SUMMARY
Our organization originated as parents initiative to establish
a state Russian traditional secondary school. In October of 1998 this initiative
developed into a public movement. More than 300 persons signed a petition to the
Moscow Committee on Education.
The movement received strong backing by the scientists of the
Moscow State University of Lomonosov, other educational institutions of Russia,
and Moscow school teachers as well. Inner motive that linked the participants
of the movement was common conviction that upbringing and teaching must be a united
whole in Russian school based on traditions of Russian spiritual culture.
The movement efforts have taken the shape of a project for establishing
a cultural and educational center with the state Russian traditional secondary
school as its nucleus. This school should be oriented to:
cultivating Christian values and traditional Russian virtues in upbringing
process;
enhanced studying of Russian literature and folk-lore;
priority studying of Russian history and culture with full respect to the
history, culture and languages of other nations;
in-depth studying of natural sciences based on scientific truth, objectivity
and historical experience;
studying and comprehending of religion as a culture-shaping factor.
On the eve of 2000 A.D. His Holiness the Patriarch of Moscow
and the whole Russia Alexis II gave his blessing to the project of the cultural
and educational center.
The project is supported by the Russian Academy of Education,
the Russian Academy of Sciences, the "Radonezh" Society, the Russian Society of
Merchants and Industrialists, the Russian Culture Fund and the "Russian House"
magazine.
The public movement acquired legal status in November 1999.

Representatives of the public organization "Parents, teachers
and scientists for a high-moral traditional Russian school" ask you to consider
a project of the cultural and educational center "Russian pedagogical academy".
The project of this center blessed by His Holiness the Patriarch
of Moscow and the whole Russia Alexis II includes a variety of scientific, educational,
methodics and publishing departments.
The cultural and educational center (CEC) will have as its nucleus
a state Russian traditional school modelled according to the Russian classical
grammar-school and natural sciences school using the best achievements and experience
of the Soviet school and meeting modern education challenges.
The center would include:
- Academic Council consisting of scientists, teachers, public figures, parents,
publishers, founders of the Academy.
- Russian traditional school having a school-lab status.
- Children's pilgrimage center.
- Art school aiming at additional training of Moscow and regional students in
art, applied art, technical design and social art.
- Test station - an estate in the country-side serving as a base for practical
teaching of biology, history, archeology, chemistry and agriculture.
- Teachers' master classes including full-time and correspondence education and
on-site seminars. - Basic schools in various regions of Russia (first in Pskov
region) linked through master classes, with the best students being taught in
Moscow and on-site training and school-program developing by Academy's scientists,
methodists and teachers.
- Publishing house selecting, preparing and issuing educational, methodical, scientific
and other literature on the Rassian traditional school subjects.
CEC would give a chance to unite the efforts of teachers and
scientists in teaching the young breed and to help creating all-nation and regional
system of education. The Russian traditional school would absorb possibilities
of forming and developing a Great Power-oriented education that meets the goal
of raising an integral man with high moral standards, a citizen and patriot.
The project is being developed by the teachers of Moscow schools,
famous, scientists teaching at Lomonosov MGU, Moscow Spiritual Academy, and parents'
movement activists.
The Russian businessmen have traditionally kept trusteeship
over educational institutions. The names of Tretyakov, Mamontov, Morozov, Soldatenkov
became part of our history. The revival of the glory tradition of Russian charity
will serve your image more than costly promotion actions. We would be sincerely
